A giant No sign has just been erected in the Dublin Mountains

A GIANT ‘NO’ sign has been erected in the Dublin Mountains this evening, three days out from the Eighth Amendment referendum.

The sign, which echoes a similar message placed on Ben Bulben in Sligo last week, appears to be stationed in the region of the Hellfire Club south of the city.

The 160 foot-tall sign was placed on Montpellier Hill in the mountains, just below the Hellfire Club, at 5pm.

A pro life group has claimed responsibility for its build. The group said it had erected the sign in an attempt at “more innovative methods of communication” as its message had been censored by radio and TV.

“The sign is placed in a privately owned field and is guarded by a large bull that is currently grazing in the field,” a spokesperson said.

Placing the bull in the field was seen as a necessity following the removal of the Benbulben sign at the weekend by pro abortion activists.

South Dublin County Council could not immediately be reached for comment.
