12 photos of glorious beaches around Ireland to daydream about

Get your sun cream and sand buckets ready.

THERE IS NOWHERE more beautiful than Ireland in the summer time. When that week, two if we’re lucky, of blistering sun arrives there is only one place to be: the beach.

We’re spoilt for choice of beautiful beaches to venture to across the country from the surfer’s heaven of Bundoran in Donegal to the idyllic coastal walks in Kinsale.

Here are some stunning beaches that we’ll be mentally travelling to from our desks, today.

1. The sun splitting the stones in Buncrana; the perfect setting to enjoy a 99

2. The quintessential red sky at night, shepherd’s delight overlooking Bundoran, Co Donegal

3. A pretty scatter of flowers making Cork’s Inchydoney Beach picture perfect

4. The iconic chimneys of Sandymount Strand never looked as good as they do against this gorgeous sunset

5. Crystal clear water at Inch Beach

6. A golden pathway leading to the heavenly sea and sand of Murlough Beach, Co Down

7. An enticing scene at Dublin’s Killiney Beach, where wetsuits and surfboards are essential

8. A rocky corner of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry

9. Whales flying weightlessly through the blue sky above Dollymount Beach, minutes away from Dublin’s city centre

10. The pebbled beach of Connemara’s Renvyle, a picturesque advertisement for The Wild Atlantic Way

11. The translucent sea and clear sky at Barleycove making Cork look like a Mediterranean hotspot

12. The breathtaking scenery of Mullaghmore Beach along the Sligo coast, ideal for evening strolls

Why is it people with strong political attachments are allowed to be part of the count? What’s the criteria for selection?

What do you mean part of the count? The counting is done by public servants as far as I know. Each candidate is allowed a certain number of observers, which is only right, but they observe the counting, they don’t do it.

How do people get selected for these election jobs. In my village there were at least six people working when it seemed to me that two would have been suffice .I didn’t know any of them
