THE IRISH AIRLINE Pilots Association (IALPA) has agreed to met Ryanair management on Wednesday.
A 24-hour strike has been called for Thursday and as it stands, this is expected to go ahead.
The pilots’ body has proposed a ‘neutral’ venue to allay concerns by Ryanair that a meeting between the parties would risk becoming a ‘media circus’.
The Irish Airline Pilots Association (IALPA) is a branch of Fórsa trade union. The trade union has made a commitment that the location of the meeting will remain confidential.
It will only be known to the company and the union’s delegation of directly-employed elected Ryanair pilot representatives and trade union officials.
The union said that while the effect of industrial action on Thursday’s flight schedules remains unknown, it remained determined to work toward resolving the outstanding issue of a seniority agreement for pilots at the airline.
However, Fórsa said the union expects that Thursday’s scheduled industrial action will go ahead.
