AN IRISH COUPLE on their honeymoon has been caught up in wildfires in Greece which have claimed the lives of over 70 people.
The fires have started in a number of different areas outside of Athens and in the Penteli area, north-east of the capital Athens.
It’s understood that the couple became separated and that while the woman has since been hospitalised, the man remains missing.
The Department of Foreign Affairs, while not going into specifics of any case, has said it is providing consular assistance to a number of individuals in Greece at the present time.
The department has now updated its travel advice for Irish citizens travelling to Greece. While most visits to Greece remain unaffected, it urges travellers to keep up to date with local media reports and follow the advice of the local authorities in affected areas.
For Irish citizens affected by the fires, the Irish Embassy in Athens can be reached on 0030 210 723 2771 – a line that is monitored at all times.
“If you’re at home and worried about an Irish national in Greece, call the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on 01 4082000,” the advice reads.
Irish holidaymakers meanwhile are being urged to contact their travel company or accommodation provider within Greece.
Strong winds are exacerbating the fires, with forecasters warning that conditions will remain challenging today.

For a more scientific take on the Jewish origin debate, recent DNA analysis of Ashkenazic Jews – a Jewish ethnic group – revealed that their maternal line is European. It has also been found that their DNA only has 3% ancient ancestry which links them with the Eastern Mediterranean (also known as the Middle East) – namely Israel, Lebanon, parts of Syria, and western Jordan. This is the part of the world Jewish people are said to have originally come from – according to the Old Testament. But 3% is a minuscule amount, and similar to what modern Europeans as a whole share with Neanderthals. So given that the genetic ancestry link is so low, Ashkenazic Jews’ most recent ancestors must be from elsewhere.
The vast majority of Jews in Isreal are Ashkenazi or European.

2. The peoples of the middle east are incredibly diverse genetically. After all, the ME was arabized only very recently in historical times. Take what we today call Palistinians, many of them trace their origins back to Egypt or Syria in the last several hundred years. The most common Palistinian name “al magdasi” means “from Egypt” for example.
3. The proportion of Askenazis in the Israeli population is immaterial to the right of Israelis to self determination within the legally defined borders of Israel. Just as the proportion European Australians is immaterial to the right of Australians to enjoy self determination in what is today Australia. How many Australians today have ancesters who lived there in 1000BCE for example. Like wise for Canadians, Brazilians etc.

Successive Israeli Governments thumb their noses at world opinion and international law. We should not be trading or doing any business with Israel at all until such a time as they start complying with UN resolutions.

I think I read something that some in the UK labour party see anti-israel as class war. In that they see “the Jews” as rich bankers (Rothschild etc). In 2016 Ireland exported $2 billion worth of goods to Israel while Ireland imported only $83 million.
Ireland is Banjaxed and nothing short of a Revolution will save us from the useless politicians who destroyed Ireland and the Irish who keep them in power. Every government department could be said to be mismanaged and working against the Irish People.
In addition, Ireland has suffered a Brain Drain over the years and our collective IQ Level has dropped significantly. We now have a large number of people who support Islamic Jihadis posing as Palestinians from the mythical country of Palestine who Rob their own people blind with our full support. Simon Coveney gave President-for-life Mahmoud Abbas who is in year 15 of a 4 year term €15.2 million last year half of which will be paid for terrorists to kill Jews in Israel.
Please BDS Ireland and thousands of Irish and Palestinian jobs will be lost. You would be doing the Irish People a great favour and we will rebuild our nation once again. Thank you.
