So he leaves the scene of the crash and hands himself in hours later, when it’s impossible to test for any drugs or alcohol.

Her must be really proud of himself to be able to turn his back on his dying and dead friends and just leave them there.

@Pete Brady: Either way there was 6 people in a 306 which is designed to accommodate 5. So someone wasn’t correctly restrained with a seatbelt and I sense other too failed to wear theirs.

I have no doubt the person who later handed themselves in was the driver as everyone else is referred to as a passenger and yes, the driver probably ran from the scene.

    Disgusting waste of life.

Speed, and stupidity. They’ll never learn. Donegal and the border area have a serious problem with young invincible boy racers and they are killing themselves and others. No personal responsibility are awareness of consequences.
All cars should have speed restrictors on them and it should be an offence to soup up a car

@nelly: I don’t think ‘soup’ up cars is the issue. Actually don’t think speed was the problem. 6 people is the car and the change that would cause would have a huge effect on how the car drives, weight transfer. But easier to blame the old regulars.

@Vincent: If it was weight transfer like you suggest, that wouldn’t explain why the entire rear axle of the car is where it is in the picture, nor would it explain the demolished concrete block wall behind the Garda.

    Tragic, what ever happened.

We have the tech to put a device in every car that can detect Speeding / dangerous driving etc. Even though it would be big brotherish I tgink most people would gladly accept it to bring down insurance / save hundreds of lives / stopping a lot of crime / so many benefits.
