Dublin model under garda probe for stashing Kinahan-linked drug money

The woman is regularly seen in the company of Irish and international celebrities.

A MODEL BASED in north Dublin is under garda investigation for her role in storing the proceeds of drug crime at her home TheJournal.ie has learned.

The woman, who is in her 20s, is active on the modelling scene and is regularly seen in the company of Irish and international celebrities.

However, in recent months she and her parent have allegedly become involved in the cocaine trade due to the parent’s link to a serious criminal who is a target of the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB).

The model has been informally warned by gardaí to extricate herself from the drug scene. However, it is her parent’s close friendship with the main supplier which is hindering her from doing so.

Gardaí believe that a house near Dublin airport is being used to stash large amounts of cash as well as drugs. The family has been on garda radar for over a year since information about them was unearthed during a separate garda drugs investigation around Christmas time.

This incident brought to light the parent’s link to a serious criminal in the Ballymun area. From then on, the family members became people of interest in the north Dublin drug trade.

Gardaí also believe that the model is moving drugs to a number of people on her social circuit.

The woman is often booked to appear at a number of well-known Dublin venues as well as nightclubs in England. She and her parent have no convictions.

Garda units believe this house is one of a dozen or so where cash is being stored. Other areas around the Ballymun, Clonshaugh and Swords areas are being used to store cocaine, crack and heroin.

Those areas are being controlled by one large drug supplier – the person gardai believe is responsible for bringing crack cocaine into the area.

The drugs are cut and mixed in several locations before a network of taxis distribute the smaller packages to dealers across Ballymun and its environs.

From this supplier, there are a small number of gangs which buy the product wholesale and sell it on.

Gardaí believe the crack is coming into Dublin through the port and is, more than likely, shipped in along with the powdered form of the drug.

The model has been informally warned by gardaí to extricate herself from the drug scene.

Is this a new Garda tactic when they become aware of serious criminality?
Give her a warning and ask her to stop?
Perhaps when you mix in celebrity circles different rules apply.

I’ve read some rubbish but this is a story about a story which can’t be talked about, about someone who is related to someone who knows someone, who is suppose to be involved in drugs and he is called Mr big but the gardai have said stop that or else and they supposedly haven’t stopped it.

Nice of the Gardai to ask her to stop. She hasn’t stopped so are the Gardai going to beg and plead with her to stop next time? That might work .

Crack wouldn’t be imported. It’s the coke that’s imported and then there’s cook houses where the crack will be made. I say again. This really needs to be nipped in the bud quick. All these increases in violent street robberies is more than likely a direct result of the start of a crack epidemic…

@Joe Phillips: so what do you suggest should be done? A free for all with no restrictions? Tell that to the thousands of lives that have been destroyed by drug use and their families who suffer the results of out of control addicts. Then you also have the many victims of crime committed by addicts stealing in order to feed their addiction. A zero tolerance for drug use and a mandatory period in a properly set up treatment center which does not just dole out drugs.

@John Campbell: John, it’s simply a fact that ‘zero tolerance’ drug approaches don’t work. Can you show me one example where that has worked and nobody there takes drugs?

Regardless of your disdain for them, they will always be around because, if they’re illegal, they’re a great source of money for criminal gangs to help make them stronger and better equipped. No amount of grandstanding is ever going to change that fact.

@John Campbell: What are you going on about? Drugs addiction is the same as alcohol addiction. Some people dabble in others are heavily involved. Alcohol is not free for all without restrictions. Bring some of them in wholesale, they can be sourced dirt cheap in producing countries. Let crazies have a go under supervision. Destroyed lives sorted.
Last time I check Netherland is not a third world country full of crazed drug users despite the fact that you can get some of them legally. If it works for them I cant see why it could not work here too.
Not to mention USA and legalization of cannabis – do you know that thousands of lives have been destroyed by simply having a joint or two not so long ago?

If as reported, that taxis are being used, and the guards seem to be aware of this, that they’re being used to transport drugs, mules, money or whatever connected to the drug “death’ trade, then these tramps licenses should be taken off them and an appropriate sentence given!

These hint dropping stories are starting to look like the guards are leaking info about suspects identities and hoping that the public will organise a vigilante mob and do their work for them, because obviously they can’t build a case that has any hope of touching these people.
