Man held in London over 2007 Cork cocaine seizure

Cocaine worth around €440m was dumped into the sea off the west Cork coast during a failed smuggling attempt over four years ago.

A 46-YEAR-OLD man is being held at a south London police station in connection with a major drug seizure in Ireland.

During an attempt to smuggle cocaine worth around €500m into west Cork in 2007, a vessel capsized off the coast and its drug cargo ended up in the sea.

The man arrested yesterday was initially detained by Spanish police on foot of a European Arrest Warrant.

He was flown from Spain to Heathrow and is being held by police in London in connection with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Six men have been convicted to date of involvement in the failed drug smuggling attempt; four are in prison in Ireland and two are serving sentences in Britain.

I wish Sinn féin could have fielded more candidates, such a great result. I am so fed up with status quo. The interchangeable government, not the band. Never the band.

I like the slow counting. It took a few hours for Labour to realise how badly they had done. A slow painful realisation was better than a quick slap.

e-voting. Martin Cullen of FF was before his time.

Everyone gets something similar to a lotto ticket with the old fashioned version of the polling ticket on the back.

Run them through the machines and have the count and transfers done in a few hours. Then do a random nationwide sample to detect if any parties are up to their old tricks.

Far too complicated for the yokels though.

I used those dreadful e-voting machines. They wouldn’t let you spoil the vote and there was no paper trail to ensure hey were accurate

Understand I’m not forced to read it but it’s just a little over done. And I just asked a question.
