A MEMBER OF one of Ireland’s most notorious criminal family’s was jailed today for four years after he helped hide an automatic pump-action sawn-off shotgun in an outside toilet of a house, and then fled from armed gardaí in a dangerous high-speed chase.
Ger Dundon, 32, with an address in London, and formerly of Hyde Road, Limerick, pleaded guilty at Limerick Circuit Court, to possessing a restricted firearm without a license at Bruff, Co Limerick, on February 26, 2017.
Dundon, who had no previous convictions for firearms offences, was also given a 10-year road ban, after pleading guilty to two counts of dangerous driving and one count of endangering the public, on the same date, as he was pursued by members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU).
Dundon’s co-accused Liam ‘Lika’ Casey, aged 35, of Hyde Road, Limerick, pleaded guilty to possessing a restricted firearm without a license, at the same location, on the same date.
Casey, who had four previous convictions under the Firearm and Offensive Weapons Act, was jailed for five years.
A third accused Robert Kelly, aged 31, with an address at Edenderry, Co Offaly, was jailed for three years, after pleading guilty to possession of a pump-action shotgun for an unlawful purpose, at the same location and on the same date.
All three of the men’s sentences were backdated to February 26 last year.
Gardaí acting on confidential information had set up a garda surveillance operation in Bruff. Members of the covert garda unit observed the three accused arrive at a house and pass a jacket between one another in which something was “wrapped”.
Gardaí pursued the there accused when they saw them leaving the house, located on the town’s Main Street.
During the high-speed pursuit, a car carrying the three defendants, and being driven by Dundon, became “airborne” after it hit a speed ramp in the car park of the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick city.
The three defendants were arrested when the car lost control and struck another vehicle before coming to a halt after collided with a wall.
In a follow-up search operation, gardai recovered the gun at a house in Bruff.
In court as the three defendants were led away to begin their sentences Dundon gave a double ‘thumbs up’ salute to supporters.
Ger Dundon’s brothers Dessie, Wayne and John, are all serving life sentences for different murders.

I work in a meat processing factory in coolock when I was younger. On the sausage line, all I ever seen going in was fat, meat and “seasonings”. Man they were tasty sausages!!
People should see what went into the. black pudding, I used to like it but since I seen it being made 20 something years ago I haven’t eaten a bit of it!!

aha Go Green! just the man! picture this….3am on a spring nite driving back through the windy gap in Mayo, I had a thought…(god help us). I’ve seen a lot of badgers dead on roadsides last few weeks and I got to wondering what time would they most likely be on the move and what would I do if one ran out in front of car….bare with me now!!!…anyway, I took me heavy foot off the accelerater and continued on..well low and behold a few miles more and out comes Mr badger. I going slow had time to actually stop….badger boy then spent the next minute snuffling around the middle of the road, not having a notion where he was going! I stayed there, he did a few jigs and then came for a sniff of the car…..he eventually got bored and waddled off into the hedge…..there ya are now, I saved a badger….in a roundabout kinda way.
Self….and it cost you nicht…now..if we could similarly save a few thousand poor hedgehogs in the same way.

With this new “outrage” at the making of sausages and a similar reaction to the chicken processing featured on the Big Week on the Farm TV show on RTE1, I’m starting to think that people actually can’t relate the food they’re eating to where it comes from. Radical idea but maybe if you can’t hack watching how it’s made/where it comes from, then maybe don’t eat it?

There was a programme on on BBC. I think,called kill it, cook it, eat it, of most animals we eat,in front of a live audience and that would test you even though it was done very professionally.
We are poisoning ourselves eating processed cr@p. We are less healthy than previous generations.
The false conclusion we draw is that because people are living longer means we are healthier. This is false.

In all fairness, get over it. People have become so used to prepacked processed food. Can’t beat going into a good ol fashion butcher shop….. even they’re being over regulated by health and safety.
Agreed, we have become overreliant on processed cr*p without thinking what goes in them. Remember, Soylent Green is people, yet they will still eat it because its cheap and processed.
This audience needs to spend a few months in Asia and see what the food they eat really is. Anything can be eaten there, and often with the right preparation is tasty. One cultures ‘pigs trotters EWW!’ Is anothers delicacy and delish dinner.

I work in a pork factory, I cut up sausage meat all day and I can genuinely say it is proper meat that goes in to them… When you roast a pork lion it is white because it is not cured. As with sausages, when cooked the meat is white!
Wait until he explains to parents that the levels of pesticide, fungicide, insecticide found in their childrens urine is from non organic vegetables !
