Enniscorthy, €279,000

Once a traditional cottage, Gurteen  has been transformed into a modern residence while retaining its original homely charm. Situated on half an acre, the grounds are adorned with plants and shrubbery, vegetable plots and a children’s play area with a tree house. The most impressive outdoor feature, however, is the stone pizza oven located in a hut at the rear of the property.

Inside, there is underground heating throughout the ground floor, with a solid fuel stove in the open plan reception room to warm up guests as soon as they arrive. Exposed stone and plaster walls and vaulted ceilings mean Gurteen’s original character is maintained, despite its renovations.

Snap it up for €279,000.

I really hope it means the end of RTE as a state broadcaster and a tax and licence concern. I mean a licence to watch TV has always been weird. I read books and don’t get taxed for that. Time to cut them off and let them privatise so they can play market rules as they appear to wish for.

Seems to me the other media organisations, the so-called ‘independent’ ones are lining up to kick RTE while they’re down (and yes they have messaged up for sure): also FFG seem keen to sack and replace them all before the next election: we should be careful not to have the lot of them replaced with FFG friendly sorts

Hopefully it’s the end of RTE as we know it. Donnybrook must be sold and the station relocated near Maynooth. It’s outrageous that our “stars” are paid 400% more than their Danish equivalents…I feel the low profile people who do the good work, especially in radio, must feel very put out by the revelations. Let the shakeup begin.

RTE needs change at the top for sure. But if you think that the likes of Virgin TV, The BBC, or god forbid News Talk on the radio are going to provide the Irish relevant content or promote Irish culture you are delusional. All the usual trolls calling it west Brit are laughable. The most cultural you can expect from Virgin Tv is the friggin Kardashians. The BBC begrudgingly show GAA in the north to keep the “taigs” quiet. Cop on, stupid moves were made by people full of their own importance but if you think the commercial channels will be a good replacement you are wrong!

Ireland’s Unitary System is the cause of all the current problem coupled with “Super” expensive central government structure, and a highly inflated currency and small population. Homeless crisis is nowhere near my country which is #1 on the planet which will take Ireland thousands of years to surpass (funny enough I never saw a rough sleeper in Nigeria in the 29 years I am alive- we have shanty and slum and abandoned buildings which people can live in without any consequences). Ireland also have insane strict laws and regulation, Road Tax, Income Tax, Sky high VAT rate, TV licenses, Fines and Legal cases for things like Seatbelt, Litters, Urinating in Public etc. Lastly you guys love copying everything from the island across the irish sea.

Spartacus Ireland: Apart from RTE, TG4, and Virgin Media One/Two/Three/Four what other networks are based in Ireland? Please dont say Sky because it carries many channels from everywhere in the World (i.e. BEN which is owned by a Nigerian business in the UK for Nigerian Diaspora) and Sky is the only distributor of channels in Ireland (Here we have DSTV, GOTV, StarTimes, African Magic, ShowMax, and the new unnamed company that will be co-owned by US-based Comcast and South Africa-based Multichoice). Even in Banking you guys only have BoI and AIB. Here we have Zenith, GTB, Union Bank, Wema, Polaris, Access, UBA with over 100 more with their branches, subsidiaries and systems. To be fair Nigeria currently with an estimated populated of ~300 million (~700 million in 2100; 8 million babies born every 365 days like lol) and a landmass bigger than all of Southern Europe or France and Germany combined (you can fit Spain and Portugal perfectly into the country; you can drive 6 hours or even 8 hours and you still be in one of the 36 states) cannot be company to Ireland plus we have insane level of corruption, Boko Haram, and separatism- if all 3 are eradicated, Nigeria will literally be the greatest country and most advance on the planet.

@Willie Marty: It could be true and it could be lies…Like They say “The less you know the better” and also “Dont judge the books by it cover” you have to live in the country for years even decades to know (I was born and lived in Nigeria for the first 14 years of my life and then 14 years in Ireland my family and ancestors are aboriginals of this nation called Nigeria; if not for my mum I wont even leave the Nigerian soil tankless of know a country called Ireland). Yes the corruption is high (but now we know it a global phenomenon), and Boko Haram have seize to exist Thank God. Nigeria was the first country in the world to eradicate Ebola, and the only country in the “Top 20 most populated country in the world” to eradicate Covid 19 in fact when I came in 2021 life was so normal you wont think there is a global pandemic (I came with my Mum for my Dad’s final burial). Nigerians mainly emigrate just for two things: Education and Green pasture (the latter is seen with every other nationalities including Aboriginal Irish people) but now it looks like the world is deglobalizing and every country for itself which began with US President Donald Trump but like they also say “No man is an Island”.
