GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have recovered the head of an 800-year-old mummy known as ‘The Crusader’ after it was stolen from the crypts of St. Michan’s Church last week.
The discovery of the theft at the crypt of the church on Church Street was made shortly before lunchtime last Monday when a guide was preparing to open the church for visitors.
The Church of Ireland said the crypt had been “badly damaged” and several of the mummies inside, including the 400-year-old remains of a nun, had been desecrated. The Crusader’s body was turned over and his head had been removed.
The items were stolen over the weekend of the 23rd-25th February, gardaí have said. Gardaí have also recovered another skull which was stolen during the theft.
Last week, the Archbishop of Dublin Michael Jackson said he was “shocked that someone would target this ancient burial place and desecrate the remains of those lying within it”.
The items were recovered as a result of information given to investigating gardaí.
The National Museum of Ireland is acting in an advisory capacity in the case.
Archbishop Jackson welcomed today’s recovery saying that “the emphasis will now be able to turn to consideration of future security and display of the remains in the crypt of St Michan’s”.
“Renewed thanks go to all who have shown interest and concern for the mummies. They are a priceless part of the heritage of the city of Dublin and its citizens”.

Really worrying that its happening in the supposedly safer islamic countries like Algeria.
I have no plans to visit any Islamic countries due to incidents like this. Even former tourist hotspots Turkey, Egypt, Morocco and The UAE seem more radical than they were in the past. I’m well aware that the chances of a thing like this happening are remote but I feel that as a westerner we are widely looked down upon in Islamic countries as lesser beings, infidels and blasphemers and I won’t be going for a visit until that changes.

There needs to be a voice from the Muslim communities around the world speaking out against IS. Why are they not doing so?

Well I’d be cynical of the support coming from some of the countries getting involved. The house of Saud are just as bad as IS so I’m not exactly happy with how things are going in the fight against IS. The Saudis are the main instigators and backers of the efforts to make Sunni/wahaabi Islam the dominant force in the middle east with all the proxy war that entails. In general the west has backed the worse (by far) of two evils by siding with the Sunni Saudis over Shia Iran, in my opinion anyway.

They don’t need to fake beheading videos, ISIS have been beheading (and filming it) hundreds of people for months. Also, the videos have all been independently verified! Not to mention the US were already helping the Iraqi military before westerners were getting beheaded. It makes absolutely no sense. If anything the US is gonna be involved regardless after all the effort and expense it went to in trying to set up a mostly compliant and relatively stable puppet government in Iraq!

The biggest event this month has already come to pass exactly 11 after 9/11 when the US illegally invaded Syria with their terrorist supporting KSA allies on the pretext of another dirty lie, fake be headings.
