IRISH INDIE BAND Little Green Cars have broken up.
Formed in Dublin in 2008, the band announced in a statement posted on Twitter today that they had “come to the end of the road” and were disbanding.
“There has been no terrible calamity, no heartless betrayal and no punches thrown,” the band have said. “Rather, this simply feels like the right things for us, both personally and artistically”.

Made up of members Steve Appleby, Faye O’Rourke, Adam O’Regan, Donagh Seaver O’Leary and Dylan Lynch, Little Green Cars released their debut album Absolute Zero in 2013 which was followed up with 2016′s Ephemera.
The band’s final performance will be aired at 11.30pm tonight on RTÉ 2′s Other Voices.

Absolutely Zero is a brilliant album. The consequences of not sleeping and Big red Dragon were my favourites. Never got to see them live. Pity. Best of luck guys.

My love took me down to the river, The John Wayne, loved their sound. Wish them all the very best in their new pursuits.
All very talented, some great songs! seen them a few times live, in particular the pavilion in dun laoghaire being in the front row and being blown away with their harmonies! have to say I’m gutted they’ve called it a day. I wish them all the best in the future and hopefully we’ll hear from some of them again.

They were part of the warm up for Neil Young & Crazy Horse at the RDS, Los Lobos & The Waterboys were the others, what a night.
Speeding cars was their best track I’d say.

Since when the big recognition for middle of the road lacklustre indie bands that didn’t leave any mark. But hey, best of luck to them and never easy when something comes to an end.

Saw them live in Iveagh Gardens,great live band.
@Kev: they were class that day… Damien Dempsey was brilliant aswell. Some haunting harmonies in their songs.
