JAMIE OLIVER IS to open his first restaurant in Ireland later this year, creating around 75 jobs in the process.
The restaurant, Jamie’s Italian, will open at Dundrum Town Centre in Dublin in the autumn and has already begun recruiting senior chefs and managers.
The chain will serve dishes created by Oliver and his mentor, Italian chef Gennaro Contaldo. Oliver said that the restaurant will work with independent Irish food producers to make use of Irish ingredients including free-range meats, sustainable fish, fruit, vegetables and breads.
Prices at branches of the Jamie’s Italian chain in England range from £10.95 – £16.95 (around €13.50 to €21) for a main course.
Oliver said that the restaurant was a “dream come true for me because it’s a city I’ve loved for so many years”.
He said that the restaurant is all about “delicious, affordable food and great staff”.
“We’ll be sourcing loads of wonderful local produce to give the place a really special feel. I can’t wait for us to be open”.
