Car flips after being caught traveling at 133km/h in Naas

No one was injured in the incident, Gardaí said.

A CAR TRAVELLING on the N7 flipped after Gardaí detected that the driver was travelling at 133km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Gardaí said that after a speed check unit in Naas pursued the driver, the car failed to stop.

The car then overtook on the hard shoulder and crashed at the roundabout at Junction 8, Gardaí said.

There were no injuries sustained by the driver or to others.

The driver had no licence, no insurance, no motor tax and no NCT.

The driver was arrested for dangerous driving.

April traffic last year was virtually non existent due to the first lockdown with all of europe pretty much shut down. Mostly repatriation flights…… There could only be an increase in April this year. Four times next to nothing is still next to nothing. Dublin Airport is still virtually dead with cargo and business jets making up a large chunk of arrivals and departures. Govt travel restrictions in full force.

@Paul Hedderman: big time, sure last week only had 5700 pax a day on average and next week over 7000 down from 100,000 a day. Still the point is no one could travel now or then bat essential reasons

@Scott Crossfield: 3300 transatlantic passengers in a month is crazy. 110 a day. Over 5/6 flights. 20ish per flight. Hope they all got bumped up business class!!

@Scott Crossfield: the blame Tony crowd are clueless in fairness. Unless they are all Leo and Michael fanboys.
