TRAFFIC DELAYS ARE expected after the East Link became stuck in an upright position for over an hour this morning.
Traffic couldn’t pass over Tom Clarke Bridge from either side due to the bridge being “stuck on open”, and diversions were put in place.
At around 12.20pm, Gardaí said that the East Link Bridge “is now closed and the Port Tunnel is reopened”.
AA Roadwatch say that traffic is heavy on the Sean Moore Road from the Beach Road junction northbound, and East Wall Road; North Wall Quay is also slow coming up to the bridge.
The delays were having a “knock-on effect” on the Dublin Port Tunnel Southbound, which drivers had been asked to avoid if possible.

An underlying illness could mean anything, a common cold for example.
The WHO have a graph showing recovery rates and it seems to be positive, people in their 80′s plus are recovering albeit at a slower and lower rate..
That said we’re months away from a vaccine.

My mother is elderly with underlying conditions who likes to enjoy good food, drink and a smoke. When precautions were suggested she gave it short shrift. The attitude she has is that she is going to continue enjoying what she enjoys if it is the virus that gets her so be it. She is not going to be miserable and depressed. Now enough of the fear mongering and get on with it. Don’t forget to wash your hands and stop constantly complaining and worrying. If you and other people keep on flapping you will give yourself high blood pressure or heart disease. Not good when Covid19 comes and gets you. Stay healthy.

Please can someone confirm her age and whether she had any previous health issues! Spain has banned air travel from and to Italy. Austria will not allow Italians into the country unless they have a doctor cert saying they are free of the virus. Israel requires anyone coming into the country to self isolate for 14 days. UK are testing all people with cold/ flu like symptoms. Ireland advises people not to travel to Italy and affected areas. Just great.

RIP. Very difficult for the family I’m sure. Joe Rogan had an infectious diseases expert on yesterday. He was saying handwashing is not much of a preventative measure because it’s the airborne aspect of it that seems to transmit it better than contact. The only effective measure is social distancing. Don’t go near anyone if you don’t have to. Lots of skyping and phone calls…maybe avoid kids where possible.

@Olivia Smith: the symptoms of coronavirus appear to display more visibly in adults than in young kids. That’s a danger, especially for elderly. Yes plenty of people do not have good enough hand hygiene, I noticed it having lived in North America for a few years and it struck me when I came back how people sneeze into their hands here. But still, if you’re telling me kids who like to roll around and be in close proximity to each other, for 5 days of the week spend a significant part of their day in a room with 30 other kids of equal hygiene practices and who don’t truly understand the consequences of why hygiene is important other than coz they’re told, are not a risk factor than we have different views on it. You seem to be thinking the comment is anti-child. It’s just vigilant.

Is anyone concerned about the overarching lack of specific information coming from the HSE and other authorities. “In the south…” This woman’s death is so sad but I’m concerned that authorities are not being thorough in reporting virus news to us. I don’t mean this woman’s details. But was she from Rush, Rathfarnum, Bray, where in the east? The more we know the better we can cope. With the state things, rumours and misinformation abounds on social media.

34 test results. I know people who are sick and were told they don’t need a test because they don’t have fever..which isn’t true.
People in hospital for other reasons told they have to wait till their doctor is ‘available’ to organise a test.
People sitting in A&E for hours and then being sent home.
Italy has high numbers because they’re testing anyone with a sniffle ffs.
Our government logic is: don’t test anyone so you keep the numbers low and it’s going to bite everyone in the ass.

Sad news RIP.Sincere condolences to the family.
Very sad news today but unfortunately reality is dawning : I am fully supportive off all of the public health authorities efforts but sadly I fear that by accident the data we are seeing is giving us a false sense of security. Almost all recent positive reports are ‘linked to travel from impacted area or previous cases’ and hence the impression is given that we do not have community transmission. Reality is that we do not have the testing capacity to test all with flu like symptoms so instead people being tested are prioritised based on …. yes: people ‘linked to travel or previous cases’ SO its inevitable that most positives will show up as not being from community spread. Sadly I fear that in the coming days and weeks we will see extensive spread. Time for all to pull together
