Rupert Murdoch calls Scientologists "creepy, maybe even evil" on Twitter

Don’t hold back there, Rupes.

BILLIONAIRE TYCOON RUPERT Murdoch has taken to Twitter to blast Scientology which he dismissed as a “weird cult”.

The 81-year-old  chairman of News Corporation said that he received “hundreds of attacks” for his tweets about Scientology but that he would “stick to [his] story”.

The media baron tweeted to his 265,000 followers that there was something “creepy, maybe even evil” about Scientologists and dropped hints about the role Scientology played in the break-up of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise.

He told followers that he expects the backlash to “increase and get worse and maybe threatening”.

Cruise has starred in a number of films made by Murodch’s 20th Century Fox, the most recent being the critical and commercial flop Knight and Day in 2010.

Holmes is believed to have filed for sole custody of Suri, her 6-year-old daughter with Tom Cruise, in the divorce proceedings she filed on Friday. Cruise has said he is “deeply saddened” by the move.
