US PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL Joe Biden has named four people to head his vice-presidential vetting team, starting the search for his running mate in earnest.
Former Connecticut senator Chris Dodd, Delaware Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Apple executive and longtime Biden aide Cynthia Hogan will serve as co-chairmen and women on the committee.
They will work with vetting teams led by former White House counsel Bob Bauer, campaign general counsel Dana Remus and former homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco to evaluate Biden’s options and collect information on each candidate to help him make his decision.
“Selecting a vice presidential candidate is one of the most important decisions in a presidential campaign and no one knows this more than Joe Biden,” Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement.
“These four co-chairs reflect the strength and diversity of our party, and will provide tremendous insight and expertise to what will be a rigorous selection and vetting process.”
Biden, a former vice president himself, has committed to picking a woman and has told donors his team is thinking about naming his running mate far in advance of the August Democratic convention.
Biden has offered some hints about his thinking. He frequently says he is looking for someone who’s “simpatico with where I want to take the country.”
He has also said he can easily name 12 to 15 women who meet his criteria but would likely seriously consider from six to 11 candidates.
Biden has given no indication of whether he will look to the Senate, where he spent six terms, to governors or elsewhere.
Those believed to be potential picks include some of Biden’s former primary opponents, such as senators Kamala Harris of California and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, as well as some women outside Washington, including Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.

The dilemma for the U.S. voter is that Numpty Trump has 20 times the allegations from female acquaintances and the old hypocrites of the right blithely choose to ignore them.

@Dave O’Keeffe: did you see the interview with stacey abrams on CNN she said they didn’t do a proper investigation for the Kavanagh hearings, but that the New York Times did a proper investigation on the Tara Reid story. FBI v a newspaper no comparison. One gave dates and times and made a complaint at the time she was also removed from her job. The other gave vague statements, not sure where,when,how she got there and how she got home as a non-driver. She also said she was afraid to fly because of it and It was proven at the time that she travels by plane all over the place for business and for pleasure.

I don’t know if Tara’s account is accurate, but it’s certainly more credible than Christine’s, which was so vague and contradicted by the evidence, that the reaction to it could only be described as partisan.
Tara should be listened to. There’s more than enough circumstantial evidence to warrant further investigation. And unlike Kavanaugh, Biden has a reputation that means we wouldn’t be surprised if the allegations turn out to be true.

@A2 Poster: they are not sacred – but when you do that much tracking and sampling across multiple research outlets in all 50 states you do get to see trends – the more sampling the more indicative the findings – i wouldn’t swear by polls at any time – but they do give some indications of trends – Trump is not a slam dunk sure fire winner to romp home is my point – and the various different polls can be helpful to see patterns for support – not perfect by any measure I agree.

In someways I was surprising how few democrats attended primary’s even before this stupid virus. Sleepy joe started off very slow against Bernie who had energised the youth vote. Once Bernie stood up to the zionists over Palestine the big money backed Biden. Yet it looked like people had already decided that trump was ahead for another 4 years. Can’t see joe Biden taking on media interviews for two hours. health concern might see America getting its first female president by default. If America wants a female president then vote joe Biden.
Pity America. They are voting in representatives to the Electoral College when they think they are voting for a President and V.P.
