Gardaí foil attempted robbery of cash-in-transit van in Dublin

Four people have been arrested after Gardaí found a shotgun and a sledgehammer in a car in Knocklyon.

FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been arrested after Gardaí foiled a planned robbery of a cash-in-transit van in Dublin.

Officers found a sawn-off shotgun and a sledgehammer after they intercepted and searched a car in Knocklyon on Dublin’s southside this afternoon.

Three men, two in their 20s and one in his 30s, were arrested at the scene. A woman in her 20s was also arrested as part of the operation.

Detectives from the Organised Crime Unit along with local Gardaí were involved in the search and arrest operation, which was part of an ongoing investigation into criminal gangs who have been targeting cash-in-transit vans.

The four people are currently being detained at Tallaght and Rathfarnham Garda stations.

    @Richard Doherty:

    They’re not going anywhere if they want access to the EU single market.

    TTIP is a bigger danger to ireland. Free trade between EU and US erodes the necessity for US corporations to set up a base within the EU. Luckily for us, Trump will put the brakes on that.

But every eight years of either a democratic or republican presidency Americans always vote for ‘change!’ Examples: George Dubya (after Clinton) Obama (after Dubya) and now a Sociopathic Misogynist (after Obama). Mark my words this idiot will be in the White House for eight years… He will be in control of the world’s most powerful military for eight years… With a slam dunk (house, senate and presidency) he will have almost dictatorial power for two years (until midterm elections)… American you really have no idea what you have just given licence to.
