Gunman 'disguised as FedEx driver' shot and killed US judge's son

The incident occurred at the family home.

A GUNMAN DISGUISED as a FedEx delivery driver shot and killed the son of a US federal judge and wounded her husband in an attack yesterday at their New Jersey home.

Judge Esther Salas was not hurt, ABC News said. It is now being reported that police are investigating whether a lawyer found dead in New York may be the suspect wanted for the killing of Salas’s son and husband.

Salas’s son Daniel Anderl, 20, was shot dead when he answered the door, ABC and CNN said, citing sources.

“He was shot through the heart,” North Brunswick mayor Francis Womack, a friend of the judge, told ABC.

The judge’s husband Mark Anderl, a criminal defence attorney and former prosecutor, was in critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery, the New Jersey Globe reported.

The FBI’s Newark office tweeted that they were “investigating a shooting that occurred at the home of Judge Ester Salas” and were looking for one suspect.

The gunman appeared to be dressed as a FedEx driver, according to reports citing law enforcement sources.

The motive was not immediately clear.

“As a judge, she had threats from time to time, but everyone is saying that recently there had not been any,” Womack told ABC.

Judge Salas, 51, was the first Hispanic woman to serve as a federal district judge in New Jersey and was nominated to her current position by President Barack Obama in 2010.

“I know Judge Salas and her husband well, and was proud to recommend her to President Obama for nomination to New Jersey’s federal bench,” New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez said in a statement quoted by media.

“My prayers are with Judge Salas and her family, and that those responsible for this horrendous act are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.”

The judge is currently assigned to a class-action lawsuit filed by a group of Deutsche Bank investors who say the bank failed to properly monitor customers it had deemed to be high-risk — including convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself last year while in prison awaiting trial.

Salas has handled several high-profile cases and presided over the 2014 fraud trial of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe.

    Whatever the story is behind this, a young man has been murdered. His life has been taken from him, and a Mother and Father have lost their son. May he rest in peace.

    The shooter, dressed as a Fedex driver, was Roy Den Hollander. He was found dead in Liberty, N.Y. the next day from a self infected gunshot wound.

    https://nypost.com/2020/07/20/roy-den-hollander-idd-as-suspect-in-shooting-at-judge-esther-salas-home/

    Hollander was a men’s rights campaigner and attorney who had appeared before Judge Salas in a court case in 2015 that challenged the male-only military draft. He was a self-described anti-feminist who had also sued nightclubs for offering ladies’ night discounts and Columbia University for offering courses on women’s studies. He was a bit of an oddball.

    That said, Judge Salas was assigned to a case a few days ago involving investors suing Deutsche Bank, investors upset that the value of the bank was overstated. The bank didn’t tell them that the bank wasn’t adhering to Anti-money laundering laws and it was dealing with several high risk clients e.g Jeffrey Epstein and Danske Estonia and FBME Bank.

    That has created some buzz that the shooting was at attempt prevent the an investigation into Deutsche Bank and Epstein, a rumor I think is quite tenuous.

    Here’s the case description:

    The Complaint alleges that Deutsche Bank has been the subject of scandal, investigation and regulatory enforcement for years because of anti-money laundering (“AML”) compliance failures and deficiencies in its disclosure controls and procedures and internal control over financial reporting, causing it to have one of the lowest gradings offered by the U.S. Federal Reserve. Throughout the Class Period, the Complaint alleges Defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that:

    (i) Deutsche Bank had failed to remediate deficiencies related to AML, its disclosure controls, procedures, and internal control over financial reporting, and its U.S. operations’ troubled condition;

    (ii) as a result, the Bank failed to properly monitor customers that the Bank itself deemed to be high risk, including, among others, the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and two correspondent banks, Danske Estonia and FBME Bank, which were both the subjects of prior scandals involving financial misconduct;

    (iii) the foregoing, once revealed, was foreseeably likely to have a material negative impact on the Bank’s financial results and reputation; and

    (iv) as a result, the Bank’s public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times.

    @You can call me anything but: fun fact: nothing but what is already proven knowledge about Epstein could be used in this trial. It’s not the red flag you think it is.

    @You can call me anything but: “Wayfair stuff”

    Just want to explain so people understand the origin and insanity of today’s most popular crazy conspiracy theory.

    The Wayfair furniture company periodically vastly increases the prices of some items on it’s website, this is to prevent stock from selling out (who would by a €3000 pillow?). If the last item is sold, the item would stop showing up on their website and in search engines, the website would not get as many visitors looking for a particular pillow, table light, picture frame.

    It’s a common tactic, very often used by sellers to stop their last item from being sold e.g. here’s two electric toothbrushes on Amazon selling for £1,704.00:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=toothbrush&s=price-desc-rank&oe=UTF8&qid=1595288963&tag=smartpcomparr-21&ref=sr_st_price-desc-rank

    Here’s the same thing happening on Wayfair:

    https://www.wayfair.com/outdoor/pdp/the-holiday-aisle-gift-box-with-bow-photo-option-figurine-w001887721.html

    A $6,899.99 gift box/photo frame. And of course it says, “Only 1 Left in Stock. Buy Soon!”

    Some of the items had names like Miltonvale, Bruer, Garrety, combined with the vastly inflated prices, this resulted in some top IQ conspiracy minds thinking they had stumbled across an online market place selling children to pedophiles disguised as furniture.

    Thankfully the father is in stable condition, facing a second operation.

    There’s a federal investigation now focusing on the murder of attorney Marc Angelucci earlier this month; Angelucci was reportedly shot at his home by a suspect in a FedEx uniform. Apparently this nutcase ranted online about seeing the late attorney as a rival.
