A MAN HAS died after what gardaí are describing as a suspected fatal assault in Co Kildare yesterday.
The deceased, a man in his 30s, was found with serious injuries at Glenaree Bridge in Rathangan shortly after 9pm last night.
The man was taken by ambulance to Naas General Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead. A post-mortem is scheduled to take place at a later date and will be conducted by the State Pathologist.
Gardaí have said that, following enquiries, a man in his 20s was later arrested and is currently being detained at Kildare Garda Station.
The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination is to be carried out.

@Kerry Blake: the absence of consequence was obtained by vpconnection but the facts and circumstances were so indefensible that the politician actually pleaded guilty. It was shocking bad behaviour in the first place but the acceptance of guilt carries some credit.

Well he was charged in court with assault despite being a politician . Didn’t Frank Feighan a FG td at the time assault an elderly gentleman on the street and yet wasn’t even spoken to by Gardai.
@Just Me: correct. The FG politician used his elbows and knock back against an elderly man who merely sought to address the Taoiseach. It is not the first bit of political thuggery to be ignored and it won’t be the last.

A strong mitigating factor was the fact that it was a Guardian reporter.

The politician was guilty, he pleaded guilty, he accepted that he was to blame and he accepts that he needs help. That disposes of the matter.
The politician and the journalist can get on with their respective lives. It may have been a valuable learning experience for the politician.

Probably because this story pertains to, well this story. There are most likely other stories about such matters but it would become incredibly confusing to include them here.
It’s difficult to see how the Journal reporting the facts of a case which is now finished could have an agenda. Nor for that matter any other news or media outlet.
In conclusion I would hazard a guess that there are no other stories that fit whatever your criteria is. Therefore it appears that you have wasted your time posting a comment and I have wasted my time posting this content and reading yours in the first place.
