Get The Look: 6 interiors buys inspired by Emily's stylish reading nook

Emily wanted to create a space where she could relax with a good book.

Each week, we step inside a reader’s home, and indulge in some copycat behaviour, creating a shopping list inspired by their interior style.

This week, Emily Woodcock’s (@mollys_vintagevibes) reading nook was our inspiration.

“A relaxing reading space surrounded with my plants is the look I wanted to create,” says Emily. “No matter how small an area you have, I think it’s possible to create this look.”

I love getting cosy with a good book surrounded by my favourite things so I wanted to create this in a small nook in my home.

“The plants give me a sense of calm, as well as encouraging the flow of oxygen. I surrounded the area with my favourite prints. I just love how prints can completely transform a space.”

Aldi, H&M and Strandfield Cafe & Florist were Emily’s main ports of call when decorating this room. Below are six high-street items that’ll help you get the look in your own home…

1. Monstera plant, €15, Ikea

There’s no such thing as too many plants when decorating a space, as Emily has proven.

2. Light up hashtag, €17.49, Etsy

Emily’s hashtag sign is an old buy from Aldi, but this one is just as cool.

3. Maggie Stephenson print, €31.83 ($37.99), Society6

This print is an exact match for Emily’s.

6. Artificial plant, €20, Jysk

If you don’t have a good track record for keeping plants alive, opt for artificial ones instead.

“O’Gorman has written to a number of religious orders involved in running the institutions, asking them to contribute to the fund”

Why is he “asking” them? He should be mandating to them that they must pay

@SkylineSi: he has no legal power to force them to pay.

He doesn’t but that’s why we have a court/justice system.
Surely their responsibility is beyond question. It’s just a matter of what their share of redress should be.

@SkylineSi: Back then adoption was not being talked of as a crime but as the best option for both the deserted mother and child. The volunteers in the orders had already done their work assisting the disowned with their complicated needs.

The community run institutions(Ireland’s population was 95% Catholic) did their best to help these SURVIVORS of impregnation and desertions by men before the state stepped forward with an allowance for them.

This has been going on too long now. Asking the church to contribute to the fund !? It’s shocking they must be ‘asked’
