Got plans? The weather will be (a bit) better this weekend

But you probably don’t need to stock up on suncream.

IT’S PROBABLY NOT going to be exactly barbecue weather, but the grey skies are set to lift a bit this weekend – with more sunny spells breaking through the clouds.

Saturday is expected to be cool and fresh with only occasional light showers. And if you do have any cookouts planned the evening should be mainly dry, Met Éireann says.

Sunday will be mainly bright – but in a neat mirror to moods across the country, the weather is forecast to turn worse as Sunday turns into Monday.

Ireland is having a generally miserable start to Friday, with misty conditions everywhere and rain over parts of Leinster, Munster and Connacht.

But things should improve later, and we may even see a sunny evening in some areas, according to Met Éireann forecasters.
