Coastal flooding expected on west coast as Status Yellow warnings issued in northeast, west and south

There are snow and ice warnings in Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo.

MULTIPLE STATUS YELLOW warnings have been issued in several parts of the country this morning, as coastal flooding is expected due to Storm Bella.

Status Yellow wind warnings are in place in counties on the Atlantic coast, like Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork and Kerry.

This warning is due to northwesterly winds associated with Storm Bella, will reach average speeds of 50 to 65 km/h, with gusts of 90 to 110km/h. Coastal flooding is expected due to the combination of high winds, high waves and a forecasted storm surge.

These warnings will last until 2pm on Monday afternoon.

In the north and northeast, there is a snow and ice warning in Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo.

Wintery showers are expected today in these areas, with some accumulations possible. There is a risk of icy stretches on untreated roads.

The warning will be in place until 7am on Monday.

The UK Met Office has also issued a Yellow warning for Northern Ireland, with icy surfaces expected in many parts of the country. The warning will remain in effect until 10am on Monday.

Power outages are also being reported across the country, with hundreds of homes currently without power.

The ESB is currently working to fix approximately 824 power outages, with multiple outages across Cork and Kerry.

The largest outage is currently in Cappamore in Limerick, with 112 homes currently without power. Curragleigh in Cork follows with 107 homes without power.

Gale warning

A Status Yellow gale warning is also in effect on Irish coastal waters today, with north to northwest winds will reach gale force 8 or 9 from Carnsore Point to Erris Head to Fair Head.

South to southwest winds veering northwest may reach gale force 8 tonight from Fair Point to Howth Head to Carnsore Point.

I don’t understand The Journal’s writing standards, e.g,.: ‘…and the usual ‘watch out huns’ Christmas edition wasn’t going to cut it..’. What is this?!?

Will Callinan be charged with anything? Perjury, Fraud, Frame-up, Collusion etc. Or does he just sail off into the sunset?
    Please say it isn’t so.
