Photos: Here are some snow-capped snaps of Ireland

Because they’re a bit of fun.

LAST UPDATE | 25 Jan 2021

THERE SEEMS LITTLE to be excited about at the moment, so we’ll take delight in the small things all around us – and a novel bit of weather.

Here are some photos taken today and yesterday, of Ireland in the snow and sub-zero temperatures. If you have some photos of your own you’d like to share, send them our way: tips@thejournal.ie

Let’s start with these two very, very brave women.

Okay, these next two aren’t of snow, but are stunning photos. They were taken this morning, too so there is bound to be some frost somewhere…

Incidentally, if you like taking snaps, it may be worth taking part in RTÉ’s Eye On Nature wildlife photography competition. The aim is to showcase ‘the beauty of the wildlife in the Irish landscape’, and the deadline is 5 February. More details can be found here.

I suggest that the recipients of such creatures be tightly parcel-wrapped and dispatched by post to the senders.

Another reptile owner bashing article, they normally post one or two a year this year they seem to be constantly posting about the people that give the rest of us a bad name and portraying it as the norm. It’s not normal for someone to mistreat ANY animal, those who do should feel the full weight of the law. Reptiles are awesome and make great pets If you know how to take care of them, otherwise it’s just like buying a puppy and putting it in the back garden and leaving it there all day without walks, attention or even basic care.

People seem to equate these exotic pets with cats and dogs – sure cats and dogs used to be wild but we domesticated them – that happened over thousands of years, with animals that were already comfortable with humans in the human world. It doesn’t matter if Justin Bieber has one and you’ve watched 100 YouTube videos, leave wild animals in the wild.
