Poll: Did you keep your new year's resolution?

To be fair, no-one would judge you for not making one this year.

PEOPLE TYPICALLY MAKE new year’s resolutions in January, but 2021 – like 2020 – is anything but typical.

At the same time, most of us are trying to find ways to keep busy and entertain ourselves in lockdown.

Maybe you’re going for regular walks or learning a new language, or simply just trying to get by.

As we near the end of January, we want to know:

Did you keep your new year’s resolution?

Poll Results:

I didn't make one (4582)
Yes (1900)
No (1165)
Would ya go away with your talk of resolutions (1075)

There was a teachers thread on twitter earlier with photos taken of CO2 monitors temperature readings in schools this morning. Almost all were sub 10 degrees C. Minimum recommended for classrooms is 17c. My own two kids were shaking with the cold for the last two days in their classroom. This is a national disgrace. Norma Foley probably ascribes to the FF/old catholic Ireland ‘a little suffering is good for the soul’ mantra, but our children and teachers deserve a viable learning environment.

@The Risen: Conditions were no better last year as Norma buried her head in the sand and repeated the mantra she’d been given over and over again. The response from the Dept is not sufficient or acceptable. We need to do better for our kids and Norma, who lacks the experience for a ministerial role, should step aside and let someone with some level of competence take over.

Most not only have substandard ventilation, but also poor heating systems, fire escapes, space and so on. Can’t see it happening anytime soon though unfortunately.

@JohnDoe: Not all the air on a passenger aircraft passes thru HEPA filters. Most of it is generated by the engines and tapped from the pneumatic system, cooled by the aircon packs and is then combined with the recirculated air which is drawn thru the HEPA filter and used to pressurize the aircraft and provide breathable air for the passengers by the distribution system. Most of this air is exhausted throughout the flight through a valve at the back of the aircraft, except for what is drawn back in to the recirculation system. However, the air breathed out at the front may be breathed in by someone else before it gets to that valve at the back. You should see whats on the upstream side of an a/c HEPA filter after recirculating the cabin air of a different few hundred people every few hours
