THE AIR CORPS has reported three casualties among those taking part in the annual Reek Sunday Pilgrimage on Croagh Patrick.
An Air Corps AW139, operating in support of Mountain Rescue Ireland, medivaced three people from the mountain.
At approximately 11.00am, an 83-year-old woman was airlifted from the mountain side and brought to the Order of Malta field hospital operating at the base of the mountain. Shortly afterwards, a second call was received to medivac a teenage boy who was subsequently brought off the summit and transferred directly to Castlebar Hospital.
At around 2.00pm an Italian male was airlifted from half-way up the mountain and brought to the Order of Malta field hospital operating at the base of Croagh Patrick.
The Air Corps has two pilots and crewman in the helicopter, as well as a Mountain Rescue doctor and paramedic on board.
The helicopter is to remain in location until last light tonight.

@bopter, not begrudgery at all. If a fool has €6000000 going spare that they don’t mind being parted with then have at it. Having grown up around there I know that there are far better deals around the place, that’s all! It still doesn’t change the fact that three doors to the right is the local sewer works and the dart line is at the other side of the drive.
