A NEW WOMAN has said the governor of New York state inappropriately touched her, bringing to six the number of women who accuse Andrew Cuomo of harassment or inappropriate behavior, local media has reported.
But the 63-year-old Democrat stuck to his guns, ruling out resignation once more.
Saying he was “not aware” of the new accusation, Cuomo repeated that he would await the results of an independent investigation into the allegations, overseen by the state Attorney General Letitia James.
“Let the investigation get the facts and we’ll take it from there,” Cuomo said during a telephone briefing called shortly after the new charge was published.
The Times Union, a newspaper in the state capital of Albany where the New York legislature is based, said the allegation had been made by an unidentified employee of the governor, and that the incident took place at his official residence last year.
She did not file a complaint, the newspaper said, but her allegations were forwarded to the governor’s legal department and the state attorney general’s office.
The new claim further weakens the position of the governor, who has been in power for 10 years and whose term expires in 2022.
Cuomo, initially praised for his state’s handling of the pandemic, has suffered a spectacular fall from grace, with Republicans and his accusers also calling for his resignation.
Republicans have begun impeachment proceedings in the state legislature, where Democrats have a majority. Its chances of success are uncertain, since impeachment requires a simple majority in the lower house and a two-thirds majority in the Senate.

The irony of it all: Cuomo is a super liberal and a renowned champion of political correctness and also for overturning the laws implemented by his predecessors that have made New York City a much safer place to inhabit go-about.

And he’s the Governor of New York State who h is far more than NYC. You seem to be confusing Cuomo with Mayor de Blasio.

The Democratic party freely identifies itself as a “big tent” Party. Many different people identify as Democrats, from “super liberals” to those closer to the centre. Cuomo is definitely far closer to the centre. This is well known.

Maybe OUR Politicians and “Scientific” Advisors (ISAG) should take note. Even when you follow the Medical Gangsters instructions(Cv19 positive forced into care homes en masse), to a tee….. when they are done with you, they will chew you up and spit you out. Poor Andy Cuomo is now having his control file opened for all to witness. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

@Mickety Dee: But this particular allegation is not official. The woman has not filed an official complaint. I can’t understand how the allegation gets forwarded to the state attorney if the complainant doesn’t even go on record.
Cuomo is a walking disaster as Governor but the way these allegations are handled is still troubling. Due process doesn’t seem to mean anything anymore.
I guess now that Trump is gone Cuomo has outlived his usefulness for the Dems. They’ll hang him out to dry over ‘MeToo’ type allegations but they won’t dare investigate his disastrous pandemic policies.
@Gerry Grimes: It;s simple to do the virtual Signalling thing, but the fact is that this article is about one person who made an allegation – not a complaint, no evidence – nothing. There is no reason to give unsubstantiated ‘allegations’ traction.
