Open thread: What Maeve Binchy book do you recommend?

Readers of the late, great Irish author have been reminiscing on the Binchy novel that touched them – which one would you give to a friend who had never read her work?

THE DEATH OF beloved Irish novelist Maeve Binchy has been greeted with an outpouring of grief at the loss of a warm, generous spirit.

While tributes rolled in to Binchy’s witty and charismatic personality, so too have people been reflecting on her great legacy: her work.

Commenting on our report of her death last night, some of you have been naming your favourite Binchy book on Facebook and Twitter – Light A Penny Candle, Tara Road, Circle of Friends and her newspaper columns have all come up for mention.
