Brrr…

HUNDREDS OF SWIMMERS are set to brave the elements to participate in this year’s Liffey Swim through Dublin city centre.

The 92nd Liffey Swim is set to start on Saturday at the Loop Line Bridge and finishes at the East Link Bridge. The men’s race kicks off at 11.15am and the women’s at 12.15pm. Lord Mayor of Dublin Naoise Ó Muirí is to present the winners’ cups at 2.15pm, while prizes will presented at a special reception for the swim at the Gresham Hotel at 7.30pm.

Visit Dublin recommends the Liffey Boardwalk as the best place to view the action, but you’ll need to get in early to make you have a good vantage point.

Here are some of the daring individuals who decided to take a dip to mark the official launch of this week’s race:

When is it? I’ve read the piece twice and can’t find the day/date only the times. Perhaps it’s tomorrow?

    Hmmmmmm………………………………..

I thought Budgie Smugglers were a complete fashion faux pas these days. Suppose they wouldn’t be too bad if 90% of us weren’t an awful shade of pasty white, hairy and flabby in all the wrong places. (myself included) :-)

    Thousands standing on the boardwalk?

Could be that more people finish the swim than start it.

Loads of inaccuracies in this story. The race does not start at Watling Street bridge, it starts at Georges Quay and heads out towards the East Link bridge. The Boardwalk is not the best place to view the race – poor JOURNALism.
