Commuters stuck on trains as delays cause station back ups

Commuter services are resuming through Connolly Station, although DARTs are still suspended between Clontarf Road and Tara Street. Expect significant delays.

IRISH RAIL HAS said that commuter services are resuming through Connolly Station this morning, although DARTS are still suspended between Clontarf Road and Tara Street Station.

Irish Rail is warning that there are significant delays on all services through Connolly.

In a tweet it had said that it had expected the disruption to be resolved much sooner. Some commuters are stuck on trains which can’t get into stations because station platforms are occupied.

The mechanical fault at Connolly was with the pantograph, which is the extending arm on the DART which connects with the overhead wires.

Dublin Bus is accepting rail tickets for affected customers.

There are delays too to Northern, Maynooth and M3 commuter services.

DARTS are currently running between Pearse Street Station and Bray, but with delays, following earlier disruption on that line.
