Useless fact of the day: The name mineral to describe soft drinks stuck particularly in Ireland, as it was the name of one of the original soft drinks companies; “Mineral Water Distrubuters” who later changed to C&C. Water, Orange Fruit from Concentrate (6%), Orange Juice from Concentrate (4%), Acids (Citric Acid, Malic Acid), Natural Orange Flavourings with other Natural Flavourings, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate), Sweeteners (Steviol Glycosides, Sucralose), Preservatives (Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Metabisulphite), Natural Colour (Carotenes), Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Stabilisers (Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum), Mineral (Zinc Sulphate), Vitamins (Niacin, D, B6)
All contain manufactured citric acid. Made by feeding sulphite contaminated glucose syrup to black mould Aspergillus Niger.
The Sulphite contamination is legally allowed to be hidden on food labelling as it is least than 10mg/kg or 10ml/l which is 10ppm.
Inflammation from sulphites can drive anxiety, depression, T2 diabetes and obesity.
