BORIS JOHNSON HAS ordered an inquiry into claims made by a former minister that she was sacked because of concerns about her “Muslimness”.
Following a phone conversation with Nusrat Ghani yesterday evening, the British Prime Minister has asked the Cabinet Office to “establish the facts” regarding the claims of Islamophobia made by the Conservative MP.
A senior Cabinet Official civil servant, Sue Gray, is already carrying out a separate investigation into allegations that lockdown-busting parties were held in Downing Street.
Ghani has claimed that she was removed as a transport minister because of concerns about her Muslim faith.
She said that when she raised the matter with Johnson directly after losing her job in a February 2020 ministerial reshuffle, he told her he could not get involved.
Chief Whip Mark Spencer, who has admitted speaking to her, angrily denied her claims, saying they were “completely false” and “defamatory”.
A No 10 spokeswoman said: “The Prime Minister has asked the Cabinet Office to conduct an inquiry into the allegations made by Nusrat Ghani MP.
“At the time these allegations were first made, the Prime Minister recommended to her that she make a formal complaint to CCHQ (Conservative Campaign Headquarters). She did not take up this offer.
“The Prime Minister has now asked officials to establish the facts about what happened. As he said at the time, the Prime Minister takes these claims very seriously.”

Ghani, the MP for Wealden in East Sussex, said she welcomed the announcement and called for the scope of the probe to include what was said between her and “the whip” in Downing Street.
In a statement posted on Twitter, she stated: “As I said to the Prime Minister last night, all I want is for this to be taken seriously and for him to investigate.
“I welcome his decision to do that now.
“The terms of reference for the inquiry must include all that was said in Downing Street and by the whip.
“I look forward to seeing the terms of reference.”
Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi, who yesterday backed a probe into the allegations, said it was “important” the matter was looked into “properly”.
Speaking to Sky News today, the Cabinet minister said: “She has made a very serious allegation, the Prime Minister spoke to her last night and said the Cabinet Office will investigate this and look at the detail of this.
“She put out a statement last night saying actually, to be fair to her, this could be people who weren’t even members of the Conservative Party, which is why we need to get to the bottom of this very quickly,” he said.
“And of course the Chief Whip has come out and named himself as the individual and I work with both colleagues, and I think it is important that someone like a Cabinet Office senior civil servant should look at this properly, because the Chief Whip has also categorically denied this.”

@plusprom – well i don’t know what intergration is but i do know that integration has been successful for years in the US, and the UK and most of Europe. The percentage of terrorist attacks has DECREASED since the year 2001 not increased. The only difference today we have social media and 24 hour news to keep us afraid of the foreigns.

My understanding of music over my 56 years on this planet, is all about love, compassion, inclusiveness, injustices in life and hope. Music brings people together. It makes people happy and sometimes sad. I have rarely found a link, to cause of war or jihad. Young children and parents lost their life’s or were seriously injured for the sake of a possible terrorist link (according to Manchester Police). These children rarely watch news in their early life. They listen to music, play video games, play sport. What on earth did they do wrong. Children are the future and my experience with the future reconciliations are achieved, eventually. I have no idea how terrorists or government leaders think, but the killing of innocent children and parents in all walks of life is wrong. Dialogue wins.

What an awful and horrendous tragedy. What a vile and evil thing to do to take innocent lives but that is the technique and objective of terrorism.
Britain has been highly effective in preventing terrorist attacks but some will get through the net.
How did the apparent suicide bomber get through the net and into the venue with explosives? Was there a security lapse?
Senseless violence against innocent people. Again. What is expected now of everyone identifying with the Muslim community in Britain is to show open solidarity with all the victims families and to come forward to aid the police in their investigation. The public needs to see unambiguous condemnation of atrocities like this one from all non-radical Muslims. Somehow however, I don’t think that will happen in any significant measure… will it? And therein is the rub.
Governments and the idiot electorate of the EU countries (ordinary people) have just as much blood on their hands as anyone as we voted for this! Now we’ve got a holy war in Europe. My sincere sympathies for the poor families of that barbaric attack on our society.

If there cannot be enough and effective security at such concerts so as to prevent such terrorist attacks, consideration should be given to not holding concerts whilst the terrorist risk continues.
I’m unconvinced that multi billion arms deals or military action will help to prevent terrorism. It may exacerbate the hatred and the anger which motivates the terrorist attacks.

This horror has been years in the making. In the Middle East Christians & other minorities have been suffering this for years. A holocaust that has gone almost completely ignored by the mainstream media.
Western leaders turned a blind eye to ISIS in Syria. For them taking down President Assad was a greater priority while ISIS grew in strength.

What is wrong with parents allowing children of 8 or 9 years of age attend a concert of that nature let alone bringing them there. I feel so sorry for those children with nobody to guide them.
