Dermot Morgan's sons to launch Heart Month

Brothers Rob, Don and Ben Morgan – who lost their father to a heart attack 14 years ago – are urging people to avail of free blood pressure checks offered by the Irish Heart Foundation over September.

THE FAMILY OF late actor Dermot Morgan will launch the Irish Heart Foundation’s Heart Month September campaign later today.

Brothers Rob, Don and Ben Morgan lost their father, who starred as Father Ted Crilly in the eponymous TV show, to a heart attack in 1998.

With a fond nod to their father’s work, the brothers will join model Tiffany Stanley in urging the nation to be ‘Careful Now’ and get their blood pressure checked this over the month of September.

The Irish Heart Foundation is running a free mobile blood pressure roadshow nationwide, where free blood pressure checks will be offered in the hope of reducing people’s risk of heart attack and stroke.

Those taking part in the scheme will learn:

  • What high and low blood pressure is
  • How to maintain a healthy blood pressure
  • How to manage and control high blood pressure through lifestyle changes and, if required, medication

For more information and a list of roadshow locations see www.irishheart.ie

Of the ‘Irishmen that died too soon’, Dermot must make the Top 10.
Michael Collins probably has the no. 1 spot in the bag.

Everybody liked Dougals humour in Father Ted bit like Joey in friends! But I thought Dermot Morgans comedic timing and deliverance was brilliant, very witty and funny to watch! Wouldn’t have even entertained the show of it wasn’t for him.
