Ireland's €31m EuroMillions winner bought their ticket in Co Clare

The EuroMillions jackpot has been won by an Irish-bought ticket for the 17th time.

THE WINNING EUROMILLIONS ticket worth nearly €31 million was sold in Co Clare, the National Lottery has confirmed.

Last night, the EuroMillions jackpot was won by an Irish-bought ticket for the 17th time in the 18 years of the Europe-wide lottery.

It is the first time the EuroMillions jackpot won in Ireland was in July 2020 by an online player in Dublin who won a €49.5 million jackpot.

Last night’s total jackpot amount was €30,928,078 and makes it the 9th highest jackpot win in Irish lotto history.

The winning numbers are:  13, 18, 38, 42, 45 and the Lucky Stars are 07, 11.

The Clare player has not yet made contact with the National Lottery.

“Today, we are appealing to our players in Clare to check their tickets carefully and if they are the lucky winner, we are advising them to remain calm and to sign the back of their ticket. The lucky winner should make contact with our prize claims team and we will make arrangements for the winner to claim their prize,” spokesperson said.

Separately, it’s also been confirmed that a shop outside Trim, Co Meath sold the winning ticket for last Wednesday’s €4,687,612 Lotto jackpot.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold at the Centra store at Summerhill Court in Summerhill, Co. Meath.

The local store recently sold the top prize winning ticket in the New Year’s Eve Millionaire Raffle draw and shop owner Geoff Scally said that he was shocked to have sold another winner.

“We still get customers from far and wide saying congratulations for selling the Millionaire Raffle ticket from New Year’s Eve so I’d say our regulars will be both shocked and delighted to see that we’ve had another big winner in the community,” he said,

A home by the West Clare coast, with no financial worries for life and a hobby picking charities of your choice to donate to. That’s what I’d consider a perfect life.

I have never done the lotto in my life and don’t intend to but these outrageous amounts for one individual though it could be a syndicate are ridiculous .We have to hope it will be put to good use but frequently the people who win are just left without a clue what to do with it .I’m reminded of a small farmer nr Galway who was given 1m.for a piece of land during the tiger era .They wanted to give him the same amt a yr later but he said I’ll hold onto the land I havent touched the last payout at all .Massive amounts wd destabilise an average family ,no incentive to work at all I imagine
