Isaac downgraded to tropical storm as curfew remains

A curfew has been ordered in New Orleans as tropical storm Isaac continues.

Updated: 21:05

A CURFEW CONTINUES to be imposed on those who remain in New Orleans, as Isaac has been downgraded to a tropical storm.

Sky News have reported that the mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu, has imposed a ‘dawn-to-dusk curfew’, which currently has no end date.

Coming seven years after Hurricane Katrina decimated the city, the order was made to those who haven’t already evacuated.

The current progress of the tropical storm can be viewed on this Google Crisis Map.

I’m shocked that they even have to have a curfew! As if anyone would be so stupid as to stand out in it! Lol

On a more serious note, I hope they have provided shelter for the homeless people there.

Usually these curfews are to prevent looting while everyone is bunkering down from the storm.

I think it’s more security/public order related as opposed to safety. There was looting, etc, the last time.

Well Ivan Fox News are stupid enough to have a couple of reporters standing outside holding on to lampposts as they tell everyone what they already know….it’s lashing rain and windy! Only in America! Lol!

Yeah but I don’t think we’ll need to call up the RDF to help with the clean up and to keep order.
