You can now get an instant online valuation for your home free on Daft - here's how it works

The new tool from Daft gives property owners an initial indication of what their property might be worth.

FROM DECIDING TO sell to getting contracts signed, putting your home on the market can be a time-consuming and tricky process.

Not to forget the challenges that come with navigating ever-changing real estate landscape: A recent report from the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland showed that national property prices are expected to rise by 4% over the next year.

For the average homeowner, extensive knowledge of the marketplace isn’t a guarantee. However, a new tool from Daft provides you with a strong starting place if you’re thinking about selling. Daft’s Free Instant Online Valuation tool gives property owners an initial indication of what their property might be worth based on a few short questions.

These questions include the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in your home, the property type, property size and Eircode.

Once you’ve answered the questions, the new innovation from Ireland’s largest property search site gives you an online estimate value based on machine learning, Daft expert insights and the Property Price Register.

From there, you have the option to request a free, no-obligation expert valuation from an estate agent in your area, bringing you another step closer to selling your home.

“Basically, it’s a no-strings way to get an idea of what you could get for your property online and instantly, for free,” says Oliver Smith, Product Manager at Daft.

There’s been so much movement in the property market the last couple years, we’re not surprised homeowners have been making more and more requests to value their homes.  We built our online valuation tool to help them keep on top of the market and to connect them with the estate agents in their area.

For those who are hoping to put their home on the market, Oliver says a valuation is “the first step in selling your home”.

“The quicker you have a valuation the quicker you can decide what to do next.”

If selling isn’t on your mind, Oliver highlights how the tool can be useful in other ways. “You might want a valuation for other reasons, like switching your mortgage, calculating local property tax, or just out of curiosity. Knowing your home’s value is so important for a number of reasons, especially at times like these.”

Get a free instant online valuation of your home today, and search thousands of properties for sale, all from leading estate agents, on Daft.ie.
