Raiders escape after Dun Laoghaire Post Office robbery

Gardaí believe the two men were each in possession of a firearm.

GARDAÍ IN DUN Laoghaire are investigating the circumstances of a robbery at a Post Office on George’s Street Upper earlier today.

Two men believed to be in possession of firearms entered the Post Office at about 10.25am. They left with an amount of cash after threatening staff.

One raider left the scene on foot, the other in a dark-coloured car.

There were both staff and customers in the building at the time but nobody was injured during the incident.

There was a robbery in a petrol station in Ballybrack and another attempted one at a station on Abbey road, both on Tuesday. It’s getting absolutely ridiculous at this point.

Still no recruitment into the Gardai. The army has permission to constantly recruit cadets. This is a great initiative that keeps our defence forces replenished. The Gardai…are forced into early retirement in a cost cutting movement. Ah yeah, the government really has the people’s best interests at heart…

Weren’t people saying the spate of armed robberies were down to some massive drug deal that went south when the authorities seized the drugs and they were only partly payed for?

I seem to recall people saying that if this network of criminal gangs didn’t come up with the readies quickly the Brazilians would get a bit previous on them, possibly with power tools.

When is that likely to happen?

We are spending money on painting lamp posts in Dunlaoughaire and closing Garda stations at the same time. Doors anybody want to do what is right in our country? The waste in our councils is scandalous and vested interests run the whole show. We are a corrupt nation and the people who suffer are the people who don’t count to the politicians.

There is usually a spate of unnecessary works (painting things, digging up roads just to put them back down etc) every August/September to bump up the county councils spending so can say they need more money the following year. The next years budget is worked out just after this period. If they dont spend all they have this year they’ll get less next year. Absolutely stupid but true.

I imagine it was illegal and they didn’t put any money in the meter to play and display either. I hope they give the fecker’s a parking ticket when they catch them as well.
