Newbridge garda station in Co Kildare.

Gardaí discover man's body in Kildare house on investigating an alleged assault

A post-mortem due to be carried out this morning will determine the course of the investigation.

GARDAÍ DISCOVERED THE body of a man in his 40s at a residence in Kildare in the early hours of yesterday morning after they received a rep0rt of an alleged assault at the same property from a woman who presented herself at a garda station.

The woman, 30s, reported the alleged assault at Newbridge Garda Station. She was later taken to Naas General hospital to receive treatment of her injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Subsequently Gardaí searched the house in the Newbridge area of Kildare, which was the same location of the alleged assault, and discovered the body of a man.

His body was removed from the scene and taken to the Mortuary at Naas General Hospital.

A post-mortem is due to take place this morning, and it will determine the course of the investigation.

A Gardaí spokesperson said that investigations are ongoing.

Jesus, what’s with the negativity people? You are the piss and moan of it all. 100 new jobs in the country from a really cool company is great news and while there is a valid point about what they will ultimately pay in tax, at least we get something. They could be go to Riga instead and only pay 6% corp tax.
And why the hell would they move to Waterford or the midlands when they should be in the capital? Whats there that beats Dublins hand? god forbid you might have to travel to go to work. There is no reason for them to be outside the capital.

Would be great to see some job creation in parts of the country outside Dublin, particularly the west/northwest.

IT / broadband and transport infrastructure is a problem, also lack of a university, needs investment from the state, do agree though

Great, another hq here to manage its orders to billing/cash process, drive revenue, write down the profits thru tax breaks (legal but immoral) and pay shag all tax,..I predict something like an effective rate of 0.05%
