Trailer Watch: Which film will you watch this weekend?

Here are a few options for weekend watching.

EVERY THURSDAY EVENING, we bring you trailers for films that are out this weekend.

Here are three trailers for films you can catch in the cinema or streaming.

The Fabelmans

Universal Pictures / YouTube

Steven Spielberg directs this feature heavily influenced by his own childhood: it’s about a young boy who dreams of being a filmmaker.

Plane

Pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) finds himself caught in a war zone after he’s forced to land during a terrible storm. When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can count on for help is an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI.

Unwelcome

Londoners Maya and Jamie who escape their urban nightmare to the tranquility of rural Ireland only to discover malevolent, murderous goblins lurking in the gnarled, ancient wood at the foot of their new garden. Starring Colin Meaney, Douglas Booth and Hannah John-Kamen, Unwelcome shows us just how far we will go to protect those we love.

Which one would you go see first?

Depends if you mean for an independent NI or a United Ireland because they would see very different results. There is still a slight protestant majority on the North bit this is expected to disappear by 2016. There is also a growing contingent who see themselves as Northern Irish so it’s hard to call.

As for the Republic, I dont think we would ever have a majority No vote for a United Ireland, unless it was held at the deepest trough of a recession.

    Hopefully in our lifetime.

As someone who works in the NHS in Scotland I am relieved that they have decided to stay part of the union. They are Britain. England are the masters. It’s a sad day for Scottish Nationalists who were not afraid of the English scare mongering and subtle threats. Hopefully Catalonia will be given the opportunity and will show their masters that real independence is achievable without being afraid to take the leap on their own.

The threat for tomorrow will be a battle of values , broadly speaking , in the west where (for all our fault ) equality , education are held in high regard versus fundamentalist ideologies where repression and hatred are being sold to the vulnerable as the will of God . Get rid of Scotland and make it a part of the north of England! Unfortunate thing for me those gits take my taxes as is with my unfortunate living arrangements currently. Get rid of it so that Dave and ed won’t have to worry about keeping promises

Democracy has well and truly taken place today but it is without doubt a flawed system where over 1.5 million people don’t get what they voted for. It’s the best system in human history without a doubt but I’d love to see debate about a new paradigm soon.

@Niall H, The YES campaign have achieved a massive amount and the true impact of it will be seen in years to come.

The promises that have been made to Scotland in order to assure a NO vote will result in a huge amount of political disquiet as other regions seek similar arrangements. This can only lead to either a federalised UK or a breach of the promises. My guess is a new Union. UK-lite.

It’s a pity we have FG at the helm during this period as I have no doubt that there are many in that party who would like Ireland to be part of that Union. Eejits like John Bruton.

It migh be dissapointing from an Irish point of view but the result was always a likely to be a majority no vote, regardless if you agree or disagree, the democratic will of the people will prevail, the ballot box is an all powerfull weapon and so much more preferable than the use of violence, and yet every cloud has a silver lining, the result will be seen by many as a possitive for this country, we won’t have a major new competitor right on our doorstep competing for large FDI projects that we depend on so much for jobs and employment.

IN reality this was a referendum to show the world just how lazy Scottish politicians are! This referendum was basically Scottish politicians asking their constituents if they could shave 500 miles off their commute!!

Back it up guys. Scotland is still a brave nation, with a very distinct cultural independence, and a practicality. It’s very easy to sit at home and criticise the vote but, Scotland still has a flag, still has a language, still has a culture, still has self governance, and is still a fantastic nation. This vote was being peddled on the back of hysteria from both sides.

It is still a big step forward. 44% for Independence was unimaginable a few years ago.

It will take a lot of pushing though to get more developed powers, one good thing is that this has woken up the idea of an English parliament and nation again, another break in the Union.

Slowly but surely it is unraveling.

Edinburgh will always look for more of its power back, even if it was a Labour lapdog Govt in Holyrood.

    Drop by drop.

The EU played a shameful role in supporting the no campaign. Van Rompuy, Rajoy, Barroso etc. and also the Obama admin, Hillary Clinton and Tony Abbott in Australia. As Irish referendums on the EU show – the pressure works, I think we should be consistent if we’re going to criticise Scotland. Also I think there will be another referendum eventually like Quebec.
