The Banshees,2 hours of my life I will never get back,Arty farty bunkum only enjoyed by the the pony tailed craft beer drinking brigade.

The only one I’ve seen is The Banshees of Inisheerin so I’ve voted Elvis. I hope the cast of the Banshees of Inisheerin get acting awards though as the performances by all were superb.

All Quiet on the Western Front is excellent. Banshees is enjoyable enough but very overrated although Barry Keoghan is superb and deserves all the plaudits he gets.

Aftersun was the best film of last year. Criminally overlooked for best picture, as was director Charlotte Wells.

Tar for me. It’s got a certain completeness to it. I liked Banshees, but I couldn’t get to grips with the end – your man’s house gone, and he’s standing on the beach with one hand left. Yes, I know he was trying perhaps to push his friend to leave the island….but better more constructive ways to go about it.

@Keth Warsaw: There was something about Banshees that left me annoyed. There was so much inconsistency with the characters and plot that I felt like the entire film was a fraud.
I thought the acting was excellent and the film beautifully shot though.

Everything Everywhere All At Once – wasn’t a good movie.

It was a mix of ‘The One’ and ‘The Matrix’ – hardly ground breaking.

Is the Banshees film as British as roast beef and Yorkshire pud?

@Caoimhín Ó Treasaigh: Londoners are as British as Yorkshire pud. The French call British people ‘les rosbifs’, whether they’re from East Ham or Harwich.

@Garreth Byrne: does “rosbif” translate to Yorkshire pudding? Londoners much more associated with Pie & Mash.

Aftersun should have been nominated instead of the Bashees of Inisherin. A much superior film.
