18 still being held in custody after Garda crackdown on organised crime

Gardaí arrested 23 people in total yesterday as part of the raid.

EIGHTEEN PEOPLE ARE still being held this morning following a major Garda operation targeting organised crime in Dublin.

Another five people – four men and one woman – who were arrested on foot of European Arrest Warrants have appeared before a court and are expected to be deported.

All of the arrests were carried out as part of Operation Wireless which was set up by Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan to target specific people involved in organised crime across the capital city.

Gardaí from the Criminal Assets Bureau, the National Drug Unit and the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation were all involved in the operation.  More than 50 homes and premises were searched on Thursday.

It would be nice if they had the same determination when it comes to white collar crime

But sure if they did you and your ilk would have nothing else to criticise, what would you do then?

About time and all. Put these ‘criminals’ back where they belong and that’s with the rest of the law abiding citizens.
Fed up of seeing these pussycats getting big boy names by that douche Paul Williams and the likes.
I imagine this operation has been linked to the arrests last week of ‘Republicans’ in order to tactically let these thugs know that they’re been watched.
Well done to the on this one.
