Aer Lingus and Air Canada sign single ticket agreement

The airlines said the agreement will make travel between the two countries easier with customers using a single electronic ticket to travel.

AER LINGUS AND Air Canada have announced an interline agreement that they say will make flying between Canada and Ireland more convenient.

Effective from yesterday, Aer Lingus and Air Canada have implemented an Interline E-Ticketing Agreement allowing customers to use a single electronic ticket.

The agreement also allows customers to use both carriers’ check-in kiosks and to check their baggage through to their final destinations.

Stephen Kavanagh, Aer Lingus Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are delighted to announce this new partnership. We look forward to working closely with Air Canada to provide our customers with seamless travel options between Ireland and Canada.”

This agreement will comliment Air Canada’s Toronto-Dublin season service and make it easier to fly year round between the two countries, via connections through London Heathrow Airport.

“Air Canada is pleased to interline with Aer Lingus, as this will enhance access from Canada to Ireland,” said Yves Dufresne, Vice-President Alliances, International Operations and Regulatory Affairs at Air Canada. “We also look forward to deepening our relationship with Aer Lingus through a code share agreement in the first quarter of 2013 to further improve our customers’ travel experience.”
