Gardaí appeal for witnesses as they investigate fatal Busáras road collision

DUBLIN’S BUSÁRAS HAS reopened after an incident in which a man died after being struck by a bus. The incident happened last night at about 11.30pm.

The man has been named by gardaí as Ciarán Briody, who was in his 20s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí said their investigators from Store Street were awaiting results of a post mortem.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have completed a technical examination of the scene this afternoon.

Amiens Street, Store Street and Beresford Place have reopened to traffic and pedestrians.

A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to provide support to the family of the deceased.

Gardaí in Store Street are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

    Close the comments journal and have some respect and integrity as an organisation….a person has lost their life ….yes report the story but close the comments…

    R.I.P. to the person killed and sympathies to their family.

    i pass by Busarus on my way to work & have long believed there is insufficient signage warning of frequent buses. I know there was a fatality at Cork’s bus station a few years ago – the first time I was there I thought it was potentially dangerous.
