Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localised entirely within your kitchen?

I remember my dad telling me that when he growing up it was common enough to see them but all the light pollution has made it nearly impossible to see…..and that was 30 years ago. Must be next to impossible these days.

The only flag that should be over city hall is the Irish tricolour, not that disgusting Hamas flag

Id iot leadership making anti Israel comments abroad, proposing to fly a pal flag , won’t be long until all these big corporations start leaving, meanwhile flooding the country with unvetted migrants. Unbelievable.

The government of Ireland is flying Palestinian terrorists flag in our city hall? Ireland should be neutral. It should only be my flag, our flag our tricolour flag. The Palestinian terrorists must be over the moon that their actions killing civilians child elderly dismembering them has commendation by Irish politicians. This is what Iran and their allies want to divide Europe. This is what Putin wants to distract USA from their support to Ukraine. It looks like we are aligning with Iran and their proxies to dismantle Israel.

It was barely visible to the naked eye, but with a reasonable exposure on my camera it looked incredible. It not often the clouds play ball for these night shows, so it was a nice surprise. Saw a few shooting stars too.

Not sure a piece of fabric fluttering in the breeze on a dublin roof is going to stop the carnage inflicted by both sides in Palestine and Israel.

When I lived in Northern Minnesota it was a regular occurrence in late summers through the autumn and beautiful to watch in areas with little or no light pollution. Didn’t know they were visible last night though even though the skies were mostly clear it would be hard to see them from central Dublin.

Any contributor here can interpret the likelihood of witnessing the Northern lights by checking in on a satellite focusing on the Sun at the centre of the solar system and all planetary motions. The satellite tracks along with the Earth, so we see the stars change from left to right of the Sun as a demonstration that the Earth moves.

    sol24.net/data/html/SOHO/C3/96H/VIDEO/

Mars is moving from right to left; however, as it moves slower than the Earth, the planet appears to move from left to right because the Earth moves faster.

It is new because the satellite is only recent; all those contributors who imagine it is well-understood because it is easy to understand are mistaken. It is unique, so enjoy it that way.
