THE ANNUAL CELEBRATION of all things Father Ted is kicking off today.
Tedfest is taking place on Inis Mór in the Aran Islands and includes everything from a Lovely Girls competition, a Mrs Doyle Lip Sync Showdown and the Craggy Cup.
Father Ted first aired in 1995 and quickly produced some memorable one liners, with An Post releasing four stamps to commemorate the show in 2020.
So today we’re asking: Which Father Ted character is your favourite?

Greatest Irish comedy ever, although sadly had it not been for Channel 4, it would never have seen the light of day.
@The Firestarter: true, brilliant satire, from the acting and scripting down to the wallpaper and props!
@The Firestarter: listened to a podcast on this very recently, an interview with the writer who stated there is no truth RTE turned it down, it was in fact written for Ch4
Also Pat Mustard, a great character in the milkman episodes.
(Played brilliantly by the late Pat Laffan).

This one is impossible. Too many legendary performances. So many scenes and characters lines were brought to life and made funnier by the surrounding characters and the interplay between them. Impossible to pick just the one, for me anyway.

@Brendan O’Brien: Yup, I couldn’t bring myself to choose just one. My head immediately filled with a tonne of other characters not on the list. I like a good old geeky poll but this is one of those magical series that was so good it doesn’t require or deserve a ‘best of’ or winner. It was a one off and it’s hard to think of a single character who didn’t add add a classic line and crack you up!

The man himself, Fr. Crilly. Easily the funniest character in the show.
Ride me sideways was another one.
Not forgetting Eoin m love. Brilliant
John and Mary were an absolutely brilliant double act.
The dancing priest was priceless as well.
