A WOMAN HAS died and 12 other people, including seven children, were injured in a series of hit-and-run incidents in the Welsh city of Cardiff yesterday afternoon.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder as eyewitnesses spoke of pedestrians being deliberately targeted by someone driving a van and mounting a pavement in five different locations.
According to The Telegraph, the dead woman has been named locally as Karnia Menzies, a 32-year-old mother, who was among seven children and four adults who were involved in the incident.
The incidents happened at various locations around Cardiff including Crossways, Cowbridge Road West outside the fire station, Grand Avenue, Sloper Road, and Asda in Leckwith, between around 3.30pm and 4pm yesterday afternoon.
It was outside the fire station that Menzies died. Her family are being supported by a family liaison officer, South Wales Police said.
The other victims are currently being treated at the University Hospital of Wales with the hospital’s Emergency Department currently not taking any other patients.
The arrested man is being held at Cardiff Bay Police Station with police saying that a van has also been seized.
“This is a tragic incident that has affected a large number of people, and we thank the people of Cardiff for their help and support,” Superintendent Julian Williams said.
“Incidents like this are extremely rare here, as they are across South Wales, and we want to reassure the public that a significant number of officers are working on the investigation, including a number of specialist resources.”

P T S B the Bank appointed by this Government to take over the running of the former Credit Union in NEWBRIDGE Co. Kildare. A town now without a Credit Union and whose residents are about to lose possession of the building they paid for to the D S P. Without a cent being reimbursed to the members of the former Credit Union, and still no answers from its last Board of Directors.
If they wanted to keep their credit union the members should have run it better.

Why are’nt the board of TSB in jail, did they not have money planted in Anglo’s accounts to make the Bank look solvent????
I am aware of a person who had a deposit if €150,000 with TSB with a fixed rate of 2% for 15 months.
The same person had an opportunity to buy an apartment for €65,000 with a rent of €7,200 PA.
TSB were asked for a loan of €65,000 secured by the deposit of €150,000 and they quoted a rate of interest of 7.5% for the loan a surplus of 5.5% over the cost of funds.
This is usury!
