Tax cuts that the ordinary guy will have to pay for.
Trump did everything he could to shut down Obamacare. How is that of any benefit to anyone, except corporations?
He rolled back lots of workplace and environmental regulations. How is poisoning or endangering the ordinary people of benefit to anyone, other than corporations and billionaires?

So what if he left office poorer?

His wealth was reassessed because he was found to have lied. Lies which led to charges of business fraud. And convictions. And convictions which resulted in judgements of almost $600 million against him.

That some of Trump’s crookery finally caught up with him is not the accolade you think it is, no matter how you try to twist it.

@Eoin Jackson: no they don’t, they pay for their own groceries, they only pay white house staff for private parties etc. Basically anything they consume on a private basis they cover. Anything consumed as part of official business is covered by the taxpayer.

@Eoin Jackson: I would like to correct my above point, they are not financially liable for ALL staff, the state pays for a skeleton staff including chefs, but not for the large number of staff that work in the White House at any one time. So any staff appointment beyond the skeleton staff provided by the state and the chefs are paid from the pocket of the president. The salary of president of the US is 400k a year (roughly).

But upkeep, food, additional staff beyond the skeleton staff, repairs and maintenance of the White House, etc etc the presidency is on the hook for them. Because even if they had the contacts involved to raise the required funds for a successful campaign it boils down to the fact they simply could not afford to take the job. Presidents don’t leave the office richer than what they took it. They end up richer to the degree of multiples of course. That doesn’t happen during their time in office.
