Drive safely this morning, a fog warning remains in place for much of the country

The warning came into effect yesterday evening at 6pm and is set to last until 10am this morning.

A STATUS YELLOW fog warning remains in place this morning for much of Ireland, with poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions in many areas.

According to Met Éireann, the fog warning is in place for all of Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster, Galway, Leitrim and Roscommon.

The warning came into effect yesterday evening at 6pm and is set to last until 10am this morning.

The weather forecaster said that residual fog will clear through this morning and early afternoon, as conditions become increasingly cloudy from the north.

There will be some drizzle, mist and hill fog, mainly in the north and parts of the west. There will be sunny spells further south, with highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in light variable breezes.

Tonight will remain mostly cloudy, with patches of mist and drizzle and lowest temperature of 5 to 10 degrees in light northerly winds.

Tomorrow will be much the same, with temperatures climbing to about 12 to 14 degrees. Cloud will remain in place into the weekend, with some heavier wind forecast for Sunday.

Early indications are that next week will turn colder and brighter.

It’s not just “getting a job” there are plenty of emigrants who can easily get jobs here if they wanted. it’s the paying over 30 taxes a year, exorbitant rents, weather, lifestyle and many actually want to stay away from the families for the best part of the year

Been away for 8 years. I could get a job in Ireland but I Would take home 40% less pay.

This is due to poor Irish salaries and benefits packages and high income tax. Thats too much of a hit to return.

Where are you based? Starting to think that way myself. Run a company on the side, gross €2600, net €1200 or so. Not bloody worth the hassle/stress. Would be better off moving somewhere else, bill the company for my time and pay local taxes. Hard work is NOT rewarded here.

What use is a job when you work damn hard and still can’t afford to live because the parasitic government is constantly devising countless new ways to remove more money from our pockets for absolutely nothing in return? This country is crippled by a parasitic and incredibly corrupt establishment that has held us back since the foundation of the state.

I would second Len’s vomments, absolutely. Irish politicians have been screwing the Irish people for decades and gettung away with it whilst lining their own pockets. Gave away water rights inc fish, gas and oil for peanuts too. It is disgusting and i will nrever live in my native country again.

Ok Paul, so what’s gonna entice me to stay in a 35k a year new job in Glanbia if I can’t get a place to live? Shedding jobs is going off point because I’m sure most of the people working there have been there years and either have homes or are already long term tennants. I’m referring to people who are back in Ireland now and looking for jobs.

They should keep the jobs for those living in Ireland and not trying to keep them for those who legged it from Ireland when things got bad. Don’t reward cowards who didn’t stay with the rest to face the music.

Very mature comments from Hefner. There is no reason that people could not find work. I do understand that people may have struggled to keep a roof over their heads and I commend them for fighting the fight and getting on with things.

About 2008/2009 I was on 150k per annum and then became redundant but instead of feeling sorry for myself I got a job stacking shelves in a supermarket to tie myself over, I made the recovery and got back into a well paid job plus I reeducation myself along the way and obtained a degree.

I think you should get a prize for the most stupid comment ever written on the journal.

There is nothing cowardly about going somewhere else to make a better life for your family. It takes guts to do that, go to a different culture, leave your friends and family behind. You would know unless you’ve experienced it. Obviously not.
