Absolutely agree, always told my kids, good manners cost nothing and now I see my son insisting on good manners from his two year old.

Most people I meet including kids are pretty good. One thing I do find is if you open a door for people and hold it open that Most people say thanks, only a small number of ladies not bothering to say anything, but it’s the exception rather then the rule

Late at night in the bar that I work art time at -the customers shout orders for drinks at me even though they are inches away from me. I always politely remind them not to shout as I am sober and in front of them. Most take it well but some are flummoxed by this and reason that I must be the owner – the presumption being service industry workers not usually well reared enough to reasonably expect good manners or insist upon it.
