Possibility of spot flooding as Met Éireann issues rain warning for two counties

Status Yellow rain warning have been issued for Cork and Waterford.

LAST UPDATE | 13 Feb

A WET AND windy couple of days are in store, Met Éireann predicts, with the southeast to see the worst of it.

Status Yellow rain warnings have been issued for Cork and Waterford, with the Cork warning currently in effect.

The rain warning for Cork is in place from 1pm today until 8am tomorrow, while the Waterford warning will come into effect at 6pm this evening and last until midday tomorrow.

Heavier rain is predicted to spread northeastwards over Munster and Connacht through this afternoon and evening with spot flooding possible near the south coast.

Tonight, rain will continue to spread northeastwards to all areas, falling as sleet on high ground in Ulster.

Met Éireann has warned of possible spot flooding, saying that low visibility and difficult driving conditions are expected in counties Cork and Waterford.

Rain will be heaviest in south Munster and it’ll be windy with fresh to strong, gusty east to southeast winds. Temperatures could drop to between 0 and 6 degrees.

Tomorrow, Friday will start off wet and blustery with rain, which will gradually clear from much of Munster and Connacht with bright or sunny spells following in the afternoon, after the rain warning has elapsed.

@Luke Littler: there’s only one group of people who own Trump, and Putin isn’t one of them. They have made it that you will get in trouble if you say their name.

@Willie Marty: no he didn’t, they said a couple of weeks and then negotiations started in march but the yanks and Brits said keep going, over 1 million Ukrainians dead and injured and a 25% smaller country and that’s where we are today. Stop watching rte, CNN and BBC their Full of fairy tales.

@brendan C5: You blame ‘the yanks and Brits’ for helping Ukraine to defend itself (as it is entitled to do), but not Russia for invading Ukraine?

@Me Me: ‘woke’ is understood as a person who is extremely politically correct. An example of a woke person would be the security at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester in 2017. They were asked why they didn’t stop the foreign man with the huge backpack and search it. They said they thought it would be racist to do that. Low and behold that backpack blew up 22 children to pieces and injured over 1000. This is why ‘woke’ is very dangerous.
