A WOMAN WAS injured after being struck by a DART train last night.
A spokesperson from Irish Rail said that just before 8pm last night a northbound DART struck and injured a woman who was on the track at Dun Laoghaire station.
The emergency services were called and were able to free the woman from under the train by 8.40pm. The woman was taken by ambulance to hospital. The emergency services investigated the scene up until 10pm last night.
The Irish Independent reports that the woman lost her hands in the incident, however this could not be confirmed by the emergency services or Irish Rail, who are not commenting on any injuries the woman may have suffered.
There was severe disruption to the DART station, and up until 9pm the northbound line was closed between Lansdowne Road and Bray. Service has since been restored.
